We can design, supply and install a gas system that meets all of your technical requirements, meeting all of the relevant standards and safe work practices.
our basic range of manifold and pipeline equipment
Wall Mounted Cylinder Brackets – We have a range of stainless steel cylinder wall brackets in a single and twin cylinder configurations to fit cylinders “D”, “E”, “G”, 45kg LPG.
High Pressure Connection Leads – High pressure flexible leads are used to transfer gases at full cylinder pressure, from the supply cylinder or pack, to the gas supply manifold system. The materials used, the design and specifications of the leads is dictated by the gas service for which it is designed. We have a full range of high pressure connection leads for industrial gases, PTFE lined stainless steel and full stainless steel leads for high purity and ultra high purity gases.
Manifold Systems – There are several options when putting in a manifold supply system for industrial or scientific gases, you have three basic options:
- Single Manual Manifold System
- Twin Manual Manifold System
- Semi-Automatic Gas Change-Over Manifold System with Alarm
Single Manual Manifold System – Comprises of a high pressure lead connected to the supply cylinder or pack, the other end to a single inlet wall mounted manifold block. Mounted on top of the manifold block is a single or dual stage pressure regulator, a safety relief valve system with pressure relief valve and manual isolation valve. Systems designed for fuel gases or oxygen will include flashback arrestors if fuel gas and oxygen or compressed air is mixed together down stream. This is the cheapest option but it has it’s disadvantages in a busy workshop. With multiple users dependent on the gas system, when it runs out of gas, everyone stops work until a new cylinder or pack is connected.
Twin Manual Manifold System – Comprises of two high pressure leads connected to the supply cylinders or packs, one “In Use” the other “In Reserve”. Twin manual systems are very cost effective but you still have the added cost of lost production when you run out of gas.
Single and Dual Stage Regulators – We have both single and dual stage supply regulators available depending on the requirements of your gas application.
Semi-Automatic Gas Change-Over Manifold System with Alarm – Comprises of two high pressure leads connected to the supply cylinders or packs, one “In Use” the other “In Reserve”. They are then connected to each side of a wall mounted semi-automatic gas change-over manifold with alarm and safety relief valve system with pressure relief valve and manual isolation valve. Systems designed for fuel gases or oxygen will include flashback arrestors if fuel gas and oxygen or compressed air is mixed together down stream. These types of systems will give you an uninterrupted gas supply ensuring you never have to stop production.
Alarm Systems – Alarm systems usually comprise of a wall mounted audible alarm as well as a visual strobe light, when the alarm goes off you simply replace the empty cylinder or pack with a full one and reset the control lever on the manifold and reset the alarm.
Safety Relief Valve Systems – In event of a failure of the valve seat in the supply regulator, it is critically important as well as a requirement to have a safety relief valve system including an isolation valve, pressure relief valve and if required a flashback arrestor, immediately downstream of the supply regulator or manifold.
Manifold Flashback Arrestors – If your pipeline has numerous outlet points with equipment requiring high gas flows, large high flow flashback arrestors may be required.
Pipeline Equipment – It’s the term used to describe the downstream gas equipment outlets, there are two main types of outlet points:
Regulated Outlet Points – The advantage with regulated outlet points is the regulators are specifically designed to achieve good gas flows with low inlet pressures as found in a pipeline. Normal regulators are designed to go on high pressure gas cylinders, their gas flows may be reduced with the very low inlet pressures in pipelines. Regulated outlet points come complete ready to mount on the wall, connect to the pipeline and “plug and play”. They are available in single, twin and triple regulator bracket configurations. Depending on the configuration they come with one or several of the following: Stainless steel wall mounting bracket, isolation valve, pressure regulator, flashback arrestors, set pressure regulator, flow gauge regulator, flow meter, flow restrictor.
Unregulated Outlet Points – We usually only find these types of outlet points on older installations or if there is a specific requirement for the application. They are available in single, twin and triple regulator bracket configurations with both cylinder type valves or 90 degree ball valves. They have an isolation valve and stainless steel wall bracket but no pressure regulator or flow control device.
Temporary Manifolds – These are used to join multiple acetylene cylinders together for high flow applications such as with heating tips. All acetylene/oxygen heating tips exceed the withdrawal from a single acetylene cylinder, extra cylinders must be connected in series to give adequate and safe gas flows. Failure to do so could cause backfire, flashback or in a worse case scenario a decomposition within the cylinder resulting in fire and or explosion. They are also available for some other gases.
Leak Detection Spray – All gas equipment should be leak tested on a regular basis to ensure there are no potentially dangerous or costly leaks. The use of soapy water solutions with some gases such as oxygen could lead to a fire or explosion as the soapy solution may contain hydrocarbons. For that reason it is vitally important that the leak detection fluid is safe for use with industrial and scientific gases and gas equipment. Gas Control is an advanced gas leak detection spray, specifically designed to find gas leaks in any type of gas equipment. It contains a special formulation to inhibit corrosion when used on copper, brass and steel. When applied the slightest leak will produce foam and bubbles indicating if the equipment is gas tight, even showing minute leaks that will not normally show up with soapy water solutions, especially important with gases such as Hydrogen and Helium.
